3 months agoWe had a mostly excellent experience with SBD, working primarily with Hailey/Haley (not sure of the spelling). First off, this showroom is very easy to navigate compared to others in town. Everything is on display in such a manner that is so much easier to find and visualize...lots of natural light too. The service was excellent, everyone was very friendly and were helpful in providing design advice in many facets. We chose one product from here, and another from a shop in the TCs. Our only issue was with damaged tile. I don't think it's fair to hold SBD accountable for bad shipping or, in our case, a manufacturer that uses inferior packaging, which resulted in about 50% of the tiles being scratched. This caused an unfortunate delay in the project, but unlike some reviewers blaming SBD, it's not something they have control over. Instead, they advocated for us without question and were able to secure replacement tiles from the vendor. So while not everything was perfect, everything within SBD's control was excellent. We would not hesitate to recommend them. If we had another project in the future, we would probably research the chosen product and its packaging more thoroughly to avoid this issue. -

12 months agoThe show room staff were extremely helpful in the design process, allowing multiple boards of tile samples to go home with us to check out in our own space, and unbelievably accommodating when I had to bring my two young children in with me! Thank you guys you made the tile shopping experience for us! -

I really appreciated the care and patience they showed when we were choosing tile for our flooring project, and also the selection of tiles and brands. There was a mixup with the supplier on our first choice, but Connor and the team made sure we got something even better. Pictured is Nat Nevada by DelConca. -

2 years agoStill waiting. The disruption created by our remodeling projects was lengthened by weeks as a direct result of our choice of Surfaces by Design. Don't do it! We had 3 surfaces to replace: Bathroom floor, kitchen counter and kitchen backsplash. Bathroom floor: First order was delayed, then damaged. Second order revealed that the measurement was incorrect and a additional case needed to be ordered. Two week delay. Kitchen counter: came to measure twice; spent about 2 hours each time. When it came time to install, a physically ill installer came to do the job. The install was mess at the seam, nearly 1/8" jog from one piece to the other. The install was completed around the drop in stove even though the countertop protruded past the stove edge by over 1/2" on one side of the stove. They needed to remove it, take it back to the shop, bring it back and install it. Silicone glue was slopped inside cabinets and had to be cleaned off. The installers had to come to our house 4 times in order to complete the job. When he was done, he apologized and said he was too sick to think straight that day. Kitchen backsplash: Like everything that we ordered, it was delayed and incorrectly measured. In this case the nearly 3 week delay caused our installer to need to subcontract the job as it interfered with his other job schedules. The measure was so off that we have 4 boxes of unused tile. I asked them if we could return the unused tile. They won't take it back but we could put up a sign in the store to try and sell it. When I pointed out that this measurement was done by them that they need to take them back. The staff person said she will call me back. Still waiting since Oct. 30, 2023. -
