2 months agoOur experience with Owens Built Properties involved numerous issues that required ongoing follow up after closing. While the home was delivered and there was some initial responsiveness, the volume and nature of the problems raised concerns about workmanship, quality control, and follow through. Issues included garage door functionality problems and faded paint, missing HVAC dampers, HVAC and thermostat performance issues, a leaking sink, missing basement insulation, sticking cabinet drawers, construction debris blowing from HVAC vents, water intrusion from windows, substandard deck construction, damaged garage door weatherstripping that led to a mice infestation, and rust leaking into all toilets. In addition, HOA owned areas around nearby ponds were not mowed from May through the present, contributing to increased rodent activity and further impacting quality of life. Many of these items took longer than expected to address, and communication became inconsistent. Emails sent on October 27, November 13, and December 12 to Casi Owens and Leslie Owens regarding unresolved issues went unanswered. For a new construction home at this price point, we expected a higher level of finish quality, better construction oversight, and more reliable post close support. Prospective buyers should ensure warranty processes, timelines, and HOA responsibilities are clearly documented before closing. -

9 months agoMy wife and I became a blended family moving in together and quickly realized we don't have enough space for this many kids. After searching the market and considering moving options, building options and all of the traditional things, we reached out to Owen Homes as a potential builder and decided to do a large addition adding two bedrooms, a bathroom, master closet, office, new patio and deck to our existing home. The project turned out amazing and looks like it has always been a part of the home. Our project manager was great to work with and if we ever look to build a home, they would be our first stop. -

They always took the time to answer our questions and made sure we felt comfortable with every decision. No matter how many times we said, "Wait, can you explain that one more time?" they were patient, kind, and willing to walk us through every detail. Whether it was making tweaks here and there or providing insightful input they were always willing to listen and offer their advice when asked. They truly did everything they could to make sure our vision came to life, paying attention to every detail and making us feel valued throughout the process. The team was professional, courteous, and genuinely invested in making our dream home a reality. Honestly, working with Owen Homes was such a fun and positive experience it is hard to imagine not ever doing it again even though this is our forever home. We couldn't be happier with our beautiful new home and highly recommend them to anyone looking to build with confidence and a few good laughs along the way! 12 months agoWe hired Owen Homes LLC in Kansas City to finish an under the garage area and convert it from a storage area to a golf simulator room. What an absolute amazing outcome! Their team, including Matt & Martin, did an outstanding job getting every detail right. We have done a number of renovations over our 70 years of life and none went a smoothly as this one with Owen Homes. They handled everything from the room finish, the electronics and the simulator. It has been a wonderful addition, for us. I can practice golf anytime with any weather and the grandkids are now at our house much more often, which we love! No doubt, I would hire Owen Homes and team again without hesitation. -

12 months agoI've had the pleasure of working with the Owen Homes team representing a buyer on a New Construction Custom Home. First, the buyers were extremely happy with the entire process. What I witnessed was genuine care and concern for the buyers throughout the entire process. Unlike some builders, the buyers were not only allowed but encouraged to be involved in the process and stop by the house often. The team is so well organized and the communication is phenomenal. Discussions and questions are welcomed. I would highly recommend them to anyone looking for a custom home build or remodel. The work they do is amazing.
