3 years agoThis company sent two guys out to trim the trees on my neighbors property. They were cutting trees on our property so I came out to see what was going on. I was pleasant when I interacted with them and I did not have an issue with what they were doing- they were trimming our branches on her side of the fence. Within minutes the laborer with the orange beard starting hurling insults towards me. He brought up my sexuality right off the bat. He wanted to talk about me being a '**' or a 'they/them'. The laborer he was working with laughed and encouraged it. Its unfortunate that a local company would hire labor with clear mental health issues- people who go from zero to sexual harassment within minutes. Do not give your business to a company that is promoting hate in the San Gabriel Valley. Update, upon looking at the Yelp page the orange beard day laborer 'took over' the company 3 years ago- Jeffery C. Even more reason to avoid Johnson Tree Service like the horrible company it is. -

8 years agoNeeded Jeff's service to remove a broken limb from neighbors' tree that was resting on power lines. Also needed to remove dead leaves and branches from a Magnolia tree at the same time. Jeff came out on Friday afternoon to check out the situation, quoted me a price for the job, and promised to come back a day later to complete the work. Just like my previous experience, Jeff's crew stopped by as promised, clear the dead limb off the power lines, and trimmed the Magnolia tree nice and neat. Also, I was not at home when Jeff's crew came in and cleaned up the area before they left. A prompt, no-fuss, and professional job! -

8 years agovery difficult job as most of work performed was on a steep hillside and unfortunately, everything had thorns. Felt bad for the fellas, but they got the job done! Have been working with Johnson Tree Service for a couple years....always happy with work, price point. Very loyal customer! The most difficult job performed was cabling 200' Aleppo pine - tethered to another pine with 60,000 pound cable. Saved the tree! Still thankful -

8 years agoJeff was the best person to work with--he was so friendly and professional from the beginning to the end. His crew is very respectful and super-hard-working. He even paid for a small damage done to our gate while they were working. They even came back when there were some more trimmings to be done. They were very understanding and helped us from beginning to end. Jeff also helped us navigate some permit processes with the city. He was extremely patient with the whole process. Thank you and definitely would hire again! -

8 years agoI am a seasoned real estate broker, property owner and property manager and I hire contractors on a regular basis. I am often not fully satisfied with the results. Johnson Tree Service is an exception. The owner, Jeff and his 2 man crew arrived exactly on time and went right to work. They were very conscientious and extremely efficient and performed all work in a very professional manner. Their price was very reasonable compared to other quotes I received. It seems to me that their pricing and efficiency is greatly aided by the fact that they have all the necessary equipment (boom truck, heavy duty chipper, power equipment of all types, etc.). This allows them to complete an awful lot of work in a fraction of the time. If you need to trim or remove a tree, don't hire 'Joe Gardener' to do the job. Chances are you will pay more for a less than satisfactory result. Hire a pro like Johnson Tree Services and get the job done right at an affordable price and have peace of mind knowing that Jeff is a Certified Arborist, is licensed and carries both liability and workers compensation insurance.
