3 years agoThe work was, to quote head contractor Michael Brown, "unacceptable." There are spots of plaster on our brand new stairs that will require sanding and a refinish to remove. The trim around the doors was reinstalled about 1 cm off from where it used to be, and at a noticeable angle. A piece of drywall that was replaced now scrapes the top of a door every time it's opened or closed. Someone started sanding plaster just feet away from the kitchen without warning or putting up a single plastic sheet. It took days to clean every surface. Was the work done? Technically, yes, but only after weeks of reminders to get the last couple of items finished, endless back and forth with Mike and various subcontractors, and with plenty of issues. Sharp corner beads with not enough plaster on them, misaligned trim and baseboard, half-sanded plaster (the rest is "included with painting"). And of course the trash left behind - masks, soda cups, cigarette butts in the yard, plaster dust everywhere, plaster water with chunks dumped in the garden beds. Despite multiple complaints, we had to clean all of this up ourselves. -

4 years agoWe called drywall paint plus, for an estimate on some drywall hanging and interior painting. The estimate was more than fair, and the work was excellent! We highly recommend them, and we will call them again in the future. -

8 years agoI hired a contractor to replace 13 doors in my house labor only, he showed up cut two of the door is wrong, and never came back 5/9/2018 I hired michael Brown to install 13 doors on my fathers house, interior doors, labor only. I provided the doors. You showed up Thursday proceeded to start the work, when I went outside to his work area about an hour later I noticed he was working on a second door in the first door was leaning against another wall, I asked what was going on with that door and he said he had cut it for one of the downstairs rooms. He hadn't even been downstairs he had missed cut the door. After about six hours he was still working on the door, and said he had to leave. He came back the next day for about two hours still playing with the same door. It was obvious to me He didn't know what he was doing, he I shored me that he did that he just didn't have the right tool with him. Also his excuse the day before. He sent me an email saying you would not be back until Monday I will drop the two doors off on Saturday, I never heard from him again. It cost me $145 to replace the two doors. Update I just got another email saying he couldn't show up until Friday, I have filed a complaint with the Better Business Bureau.
