Good afternoon, Arizona Custom Granite LLC installed some granite Saturday January 16th. When they installed the granite they did not install any wood sub top as their invoice states. They did not install any of the 5/8 sub straight plywood that is customary during any installation of granite. They left the sink completely unsupported. Because they left the sink unsupported the granite cracked from one side of the sink to the other in both the front and back of the sink. I tried to bring it up with the granite installer, showed him pictures, and gave him the opportunity to fix it only to have him deny any responsibility. I had paid him $755 for the granite slab. Unfortunately he is not willing to fix the issue and claims that it is not his fault, even though industry standards, and installation requirements show that he is in the fault. So now I am out the money for the slab and the customer is still in need of their kitchen being finished. I have multiple text messages pleading with the owner of the company to just do the right thing and replace the broken kitchen counter top. Unfortunately he just wants to continue to say it was not his fault and is unwilling to fix the issue. I am just looking for my money back for the slab that I purchased that ended up being broken because of their faulty workmanship. Or if he is willing to still finish the job properly with a new piece of granite, I and the homeowner would love to pay him for his efforts. All we are asking is that he do the job properly. Even his own invoice shows that he knows what to do during the installation of the granite, but just did not do it properly this time for some reason. All we want is the kitchen finished properly.

FAQ

How does AZ Custom Granite determine pricing for countertop installation?

We provide custom quotes based on your specific project details, including the material you choose, the size of your countertops, the complexity of the installation, and any special features like custom edges or sink cutouts. To get an accurate estimate, we'll need to measure your space and discuss your design preferences. We recommend getting your estimate in writing before committing to the project so you know exactly what to expect and can budget accordingly.

Are you licensed and insured for countertop work?

AZ Custom Granite operates as a professional countertop and handyman service in Glendale, Arizona. We handle granite installation and related kitchen and bathroom projects with proper attention to building standards and safety. If you have specific licensing or insurance questions, we're happy to discuss our credentials directly with you before you hire us.

Does AZ Custom Granite handle both kitchen and bathroom countertop installations?

Yes, we specialize in countertop installation for both kitchens and bathrooms, working with granite and other materials to create custom surfaces that match your vision. Our team also provides handyman and tile installation services, so we can handle related work like backsplashes or bathroom updates as part of your project. Whether you need a complete kitchen renovation or a focused bathroom upgrade, we can discuss how to best serve your space.

How long does the countertop installation process take from start to finish?

AZ Custom Granite follows a multi-step timeline that typically spans 1-3 weeks total. After your initial consultation and measurements, we schedule a templating appointment to create a precise computer model of your space. Fabrication usually takes 7-10 business days depending on your material and design complexity, and the actual installation day typically takes 3-5 hours for a standard kitchen. We'll provide you with a realistic schedule upfront so you can plan around the disruption to your kitchen or bathroom.

What does AZ Custom Granite do to prepare my space before installation?

We evaluate your cabinetry, substructures, and wall conditions to ensure everything is level and properly supports your new countertops, since stone doesn't flex like other materials and needs a stable base to prevent cracking. We'll coordinate with plumbers or electricians if necessary to handle disconnections before we arrive. On installation day, we protect your home with floor coverings and dust control measures, and we ask that you empty your cabinets beforehand and provide a clear path for our team to work efficiently.

Why is professional countertop installation better than a DIY approach?

Professional installation ensures precision and durability that DIY projects often lack. We use digital templating technology accurate to 1/16 of an inch, which is critical for a perfect fit and prevents costly modifications later. Our team knows how to properly level cabinets, reinforce overhangs with steel braces when needed, and create nearly invisible seams in natural stone. We also handle the heavy lifting and technical aspects safely, and we don't consider the job complete until you're fully satisfied with the finished product.
