Ted frrom JRTS came by this morning to talk to me about a tree I wanted to take down as I was concerned about it being safe for the upcoming storms and hurricane season. He told me that my hickory tree, which I thought was an ash tree, is perfectly healthy and that the trees are strong and weather storms. I've been in my house for almost twenty years and have had several trees removed over the years to keep the house and property safe. Ted was at very infomative and we spoke about an oak tree nearby that had an issue at the base of the tree from damage when someone did tree work a couple years ago and branches hit it. He looked at the tree and told and showed me where the tree is growing the bark back and it is a healty tree. I can attest to you that not one of the several tree services I called over the years would do that. They all are out for as much money as they can get from you. One clown showed up yesterday and started some b.s. about a " 10% disount" and then started the price at 2100 to cut down a tree then tried to play like he was a business man and said it would be 1800 to cut it down. Be leary of the latino tree cutters as they do not know how to identify an oak tree from a sweet gum tree. They just want your money. Ted has what is greatly missing in this country...intgegrity. So he left with me feeling good about leaving my tree as it is James River will be the only company I call in the future for service. Honesty and integrity is a rare find these days. Update info: just over an hour ago a major storm came down the I 95 corridor packing winds up 80 mph. My neighborhood got some serious wind and guess what? Not one leaf or branch came off the hickory tree. It held in and is as strong as Ted said. The oak trees lost branches and leaves as did the poplar trees. This definitely speaks of his knowledge. While I was hiding in my closet during the outrageous winds the hickory was saying: bring it on ha ha. Not one leaf or small branch came off of it.

Unbeatable pricing! They removed 5 trees and grounded those 5 stumps. Now for the reason why I rated them a 4: their customer service needs serious improvement. I had to reach out multiple times to figure out when some of their service would be completed; and kept getting different answers. I will say that the owner stated that he was having a family emergency and apologized for the lack of communication. Everything was completed in about a week and a half.
