  Words cannot express how wonderful Arbor Valley Tree Service is. They helped our family after a tree crushed the house. The attention to detail and kindness during a very emotional time was incredible. The made sure that the tree removal did not cause any additional damage. They cleaned up both the inside and the outside of the house (since the tree was in both places). I highly recommend this company.

  After seeing Arbor Valley remove a couple of hard-to-reach trees from my neighbor's property, we decided they were the right company to attack our two large Silver Maples Our Silver Maples were on the side of the house, which required using a Crane to lift each section over the house and a Track Lift (i.e., spider lift) for the cutter to position himself. The Crane operator operated the Crane skillfully, like a patient fisherman waiting for a hit on his line. The cutter positioned himself, attached the strap from the boom around the section to be cut and the boom operator made it taught. The cutter carefully cut the section and when the boom operator sensed the tension, he lifted the section over the house and fed it to the team in the driveway that was operating the chipper. Every time a section was cut, I never saw the log sway / swing where it made me fearful that it would hit the house. The whole thing was like watching a perfectly choreographed ballet! The trees were very large and the team made it seem effortless! We also had the stumps ground, chips hauled away and the holes filled with dirt. The overall job was large and the cost was very reasonable. The team was very impressive and we have since hired them for a smaller job, which they completed with ease. Arbor Valley has become our "Go to company for tree removal".

  I don't write reviews very often, but I was so impressed by the crew. They visited our house twice, once to cut down some trees and a second time to remove the stumps. The first time they came a crew member pulled in our trash cans, which was such a nice unexpected thing to do. They also were very thorough. They double checked with us before cutting down a small tree that wasn't marked to ensure they didn't cut anything we still wanted. The second time, he was so considerate while grinding the stumps. We had clothes drying outside. He took the time to let us know that one stump in particular would kick up a lot of dust and that we might want to take things down before he started so the laundry didn't get dirty. They were very pleasant and polite, and were able to get the job done quickly for a great price. So it was already a great experience. The extra time they took to be considerate and conscientious made it absolutely superb.

  We had an excellent experience with Carl and his crew. They removed a very large oak that was located just next to our house. They did the work on time and the cost was exactly what they quoted. Highly recommend.

  We would give more stars if there were more to give. We live in California; our son and his family live in Ann Arbor, MI. Ann Arbor is a beautiful town, green all around and adorned with gorgeous trees throughout the town and also in the mature neighborhood in which our son and family live. The trees around our son's house are huge and mature and in need of a thorough trim from top to bottom. We have small grandchildren and wanted to avoid the danger of any injuries from dead limbs falling. We contacted Arbor Valley Tree Service, among others, from our California home hoping to arrange a thorough trimming for this property. Fortunately the trimming occurred while we were actually in Ann Arbor for a visit and we were able to see first hand the impressive job that was completed in just 6-7 hours. The crew of 3 men arrived on time with a huge chipper, truck for collecting the chips, a machine called a "spider" for high trimming (some of the trees were 60-80 feet), rakes, shovels, brooms for cleanup. These three men worked like you cannot believe, quick, organized, careful - a well-oiled machine. The lead man initially did all the reachable trimming while the other two immediately threw limbs, clippings, dead wood already on the ground into the chipper, cleaning up as they went. They started from the beginning of the driveway where the line of trees began all the way to the garage where the property line ended. Then they brought out the big gun to trim the unreachable limbs - the spider. Believe it or not, it is a remote control machine on tracks. Once it was in place, stabilizers lifted it from the ground, the lead man climbed into the bucket and controlled the bucket from there, lifted himself to the top of each tree, and started removing the limbs, lowering them down near the chipper with one hand after cutting them (he was extremely strong). He then lowered his bucket gradually until each tree was finished. All the while there was never any mess on the ground as it was cleared immediately by the other two men. Believe me this was a treat to watch. It was an amazing dance. Along with the skill and professionalism of these workers is the fact that we made this arrangement with Carl Loomis, Owner, long distance. Of the four tree service businesses that we contacted, Mr. Loomis' bid was by far the best. He maintained contact with us through the process where other businesses we contacted did not followup or return calls. We were so fortunate using this company. We now have no worries about falling limbs injuring our grandchildren. Also, at the time of the trimming, the men pointed out a patch of poison ivy (we had not seen this plant before) and recommended we spray it to save the children from getting a nasty rash.
