4 years agoThe team was available to help us with some 'time and materials' projects in our new home, including some drywall demo/repair that involve electric and plumbing. Very personable and thorough service-- it's clear they care about the big picture of the job and the satisfaction of the customer. Thank you for your great work! -

9 years agoI recently bought a condo and hired these guys to take on a range of tasks- install a tricky asymmetrical mantel, fasten a rebellious washing machine into place, fix quirky electrical wiring that would only make sense to a madman/drunkard, caulk over sloppily constructed drywall/ceiling joints, and provide a quote for hardwood flooring. What sold me on S.N. Peck vs. their competitors was their old world personability and nearby location. My general contractor Tammy literally drove over to my place to talk to me in person when delivering their bid. The next day I emailed some followup questions...rather than respond to my email she drove over again to talk in person. I never met their veteran President but know that he's President of a local Habitat for Humanity branch, and is shown in photographs wearing a bow tie. Not only was the quality of the contractor's work excellent, but Tammy and the contractor also patiently provided me with thoughtful pointers on my own novice DIY projects in progress- painting, reflooring a room, tearing up carpet. She took time to understand my 'vision' for fixing up the place, and showed a genuine curiosity and appreciation for how the work was shaping up. In an age of electronic transactions and automated call waiting systems, it's good to find a place where the customer service comes first. -

10 years agoThe project was supposed to take 2 weeks, per the salesperson, it actually took in excess of 4 months. I unfortunately did not get an estimated completion date in the contract. This was a small bathroom remodel in excess of 18K, I only have one bathroom by the way. There were acceptable explanations for some of the delays i.e. defective bathtub and the vanity was larger than the sink so adjustments had to be made (the problems were out of my control since I did not measure or place orders for the products). There was one worker assigned to do the work and he worked for 2 and one half weeks before he was pulled off on another project. Communications were nonexistent, I had a one day notice as to when contractor for the shower door would take measurements and I was informed 2 weeks later it would be installed the following week. My floors were flooded although they were repaired with excess product I had on hand, my lighting fixture was cracked ( I gave them a pass on this one since it was minor), an adjoining closet has been spackled due to damage to an adjoining wall. and I have plumbers coming in tomorrow to determine why water flows from the sink to the overflow in the bathtub. I do not like their business practices and I accept the blame for my problems, I should have known better. Word to the wise the 'allowances' are with vendors with whom they have a relationship, the actual cost of the materials are not disclosed to you and your choices are therefore limited. The only reason I rate them 3 stars instead of 2 is the worker seemed dedicated and professional. If I had it to do over, I would select a different contractor, I did not get what I paid for. -

10 years agoI found S.N. Peck through an extensive internet search and numerous phone calls to contractors. I had a small job and wanted a reputable contractor. I'm so glad that I found S.N. Peck. Everyone I've worked with on the project was professional, patient and committed to ensuring the best result. There were two parts to the project and the door replacement turned out to be more complex than expected. They stayed much longer than planned in their effort to get it right. When it was clear that we needed the manufacturer to address issues with the doors, they took point to get the representatives of the manufacturer to my house to fix the issues with the doors. The other part of the project was window replacement and this was completed on schedule. I was so impressed with how clean they were and how they followed up to make sure I was pleased. I highly recommend S.N. Peck for any project you have. They will measure and re-measure to ensure accuracy and explain things in detail to help you make informed decisions.
