5 months agoWe had them come out due to some strange humidity during the peak of the summer. Jeremy was able to quickly identify the issue, he jumped in the attic and found all the issues causing the humidity in the kitchen drawers due to poor insulation in the attic. Quote and installation went smoothly and with today being super humid and hot we didn't see the issue back. Can't recommend them enough. -

11 months agoThese people were terrible!! I called them because I was told they could fix my fireplace. When they finally called me back, they told me it was $150 just to look at it. Then they came out & took my $150.00 and never called me back. I started calling them and was told they would get back to me. Three calls later, I spoke with someone and 'he's been busy' and 'it'll be a while', he still hasn't check into parts. Which by the way I had the owners manual with part numbers and had given that to the repairman. I also told him I had clicked the link on the manufacturer website and found the parts and could order them. He said he won't put the parts on if i buy them. So, i guess I am out $150 and the three weeks i've been waiting for them. Poor customer service! -

11 months agoThey guys are great! Had an original quote done a few years ago but something came up and I wasn't able to get the work done at that time. But when I contacted them again this year, they still had my information and were able to give me an updated quote without having to come back out. They arrived at the time they said they were going to, took a look at the attic, and got to work. My attic didn't have any insulation and it only took them about an hour to do the whole job. They barely left any mess and what mess they did leave (little fluffs of insulation) they offered to clean with my vacuum, but I told him not to worry about it. Bonus: they changed the Lightbulb I've been unable to reach in the room where my attic access is that's been out for years. Great service! -

FAQ
How does Prairie Insulation LLC determine pricing for insulation work?
We provide custom quotes based on your specific project needs, including the type of insulation required, the area to be insulated, and any additional work like air sealing or old insulation removal. Our estimate process involves a thorough inspection to identify issues such as humidity problems or outdated materials, which helps us give you an accurate price that reflects the actual scope of work. Contact us to schedule a free assessment of your home's insulation needs.
Are you licensed and insured?
Prairie Insulation LLC maintains the proper licensing and insurance coverage required to perform insulation work in Illinois. This protects both you and our team during the installation process and ensures we meet all state requirements and building codes for safe, compliant work.
What types of insulation projects does Prairie Insulation LLC handle?
We specialize in a wide range of insulation services including attic insulation, crawlspace insulation, spray foam applications, and fireplace work. Our team also addresses underlying issues like humidity and moisture problems that affect your home's energy efficiency. With over 20 years serving Central Illinois, we have experience with both new construction and retrofit projects in residential homes.
What should I expect during the installation process?
Prairie Insulation LLC will communicate with you about the project timeline and what to expect at each stage of the work. Depending on the type of insulation being installed, such as spray foam, you may need to leave your home during application and for a period afterward. Our team will provide clear guidance on safety precautions and any preparations you need to make before we arrive.
How does Prairie Insulation LLC handle cleanup and debris removal after the job?
We take responsibility for cleaning up the work site and properly disposing of old insulation and other debris generated during the project. A professional installation includes leaving your home in good condition, not just completing the insulation work itself. The specifics of cleanup should be outlined in your contract before work begins.
Why should I hire a professional insulation contractor instead of doing this myself?
Proper insulation installation requires knowledge of vapor barriers, air sealing, ventilation, and local building codes-details that significantly impact how well your insulation performs. DIY mistakes can lead to moisture problems, reduced energy efficiency, and potential damage to your home. Professional contractors have access to quality materials, specialized equipment, and training to ensure your insulation is installed correctly the first time, delivering the energy savings and comfort you're paying for.
