As a response from the owner with regard to the previous review he would like to state the following to address the accusations made. Massarelli is a contractor specializing in demolition and earthwork services. Despite not being an equipment dealer, he did agree to sell the dumpster and instructed the buyer specifically to bring a roll off truck to transport the dumpster. The buyer showed up with a very small trailer not served to haul the dumpster purchased. When the owner noticed he did not have the appropriate equipment to haul the product he tried to talk him out of the sale since the hauling of the purchase would be illegal. The purchaser then demanded the owner provide equipment, that he claimed he could operate, to load the dumpster onto his undersized trailer. As it turns out the purchaser could not figure out how to start the equipment. One of the owners operators walked him through the process to start and run the equipment. The buyer completely ignored all our instructions provided at the time of purchase and the owner at this point just wanted him to load the dumpster and vacate his property immediately. The owner found this purchaser to be arrogant, ignorant, and not prepared to handle the transport of the purchase item.

FAQ

How does Massarelli Excavating & Demolition determine pricing for demolition and excavation projects?

We assess pricing based on project size, site conditions, materials involved, and required equipment like crushing machines for debris processing. Custom quotes account for labor, permits, and any site-specific challenges to ensure transparency. Homeowners receive detailed written estimates outlining all costs before work begins.

Are you licensed and insured for demolition work?

Massarelli Excavating & Demolition carries full licensing, bonding, and insurance including general liability and workers' compensation to protect against accidents or damage. Our team verifies compliance with all Pittsburgh codes on every job. This setup safeguards homeowners from liability during the project.

Does Massarelli Excavating & Demolition handle full house demolition, foundation removal, and site excavation for new construction?

We manage complete demolition of old houses, foundation excavation, and site preparation to make properties construction-ready. Our services cover tearing down structures and processing debris with specialized equipment on-site. This full scope ensures sites meet local codes for new builds.

What is your typical timeline and scheduling process for demolition jobs?

Massarelli Excavating & Demolition provides clear timelines based on project scope, starting with site assessment and aiming for efficient completion while factoring in weather or permitting. We coordinate arrival windows and communicate updates to align with your schedule. Most jobs wrap up promptly to minimize disruption.

How does Massarelli Excavating & Demolition handle debris cleanup and waste removal after demolition?

We remove all debris from the site, processing it on location with crushing machines to create a clean slate for new construction. Waste is disposed of properly per local regulations, leaving the property graded and ready. Homeowners can expect no leftover materials or mess post-job.

Why is hiring you safer and better than attempting demolition as a DIY project?

Our hands-on experience ensures safe handling of structural risks, heavy equipment, and code compliance that DIY lacks, preventing injuries or legal issues. We follow strict protocols for site stability and hazard avoidance, unlike amateur efforts that often lead to collapses or fines. Professional crews turn complex sites into safe, prepped spaces efficiently.
